Are you sick and tired of scrolling on TikTok for vegan recipes and restaurants near you? It can feel frustrating not only to find a great local spot but also to discover options that truly meet your dietary needs and preferences.

Well, look no further because your answer is right here. Below are some restaurants in New Brunswick that are vegan-conscious, budget-friendly and diverse enough that you'll always have something new to choose from, especially during World Vegan Month!

Veganized

The name gives away this joint's concept, but Veganized specializes in exclusively vegan dishes. Located near the College Avenue campus, Veganized offers a little bit of everything on its menu, so even if you're picky, you'll certainly have something to choose from here.

So, what should you order at Veganized? Some of the best options include the Mackin Cheese, Try Stir-Fry or the Barbie-que sandwich, all well-made, satiating main dishes. As for sides, the crispy fries and mashed potatoes are great. Lastly, absolutely get dessert here — give the Chocolate Peanut Butter Torte, Lemon Cheese Cake or their famous 14 Karat Cake a chance.

Also, Veganized is beautiful inside, making it a perfect spot for a date, a casual hangout with friends or a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the on-campus dining halls.

Honeygrow

A College Avenue campus fan-favorite, Honeygrow offers a tried-and-true menu with options that you can completely customize to suit your vegan preferences.

So, what should you eat at Honeygrow? There's the salad and noodle offerings — the whole wheat noodles are plentiful, the brown rice is always dependable and most of the bases for the salads are vegan. They also offer tofu and a plethora of vegetable toppings.

The pre-selected Red Coconut Curry Stir-Fry option is one option that's vegan and comes with tofu, pineapples and carrots, with a delicious red coconut curry sauce.

Ramen Nagomi

Ramen Nagomi is a beloved spot around campus, and that's for a reason. A sizzling and generous bowl of ramen is the perfect solution for the cold winter months ahead. But, Ramen Nagomi offers other vegan appetizers that taste and look fantastic, setting it apart from similar locations.

Two ramen choices, the Vegetarian Spicy Miso Ramen and Vegetarian Curry & King Trumpet Mushroom Ramen, can easily be made vegan by substituting the regular noodles for kale noodles or white rice. With your ramen, try the cucumber salad for a nice crunch, and make sure to get the edamame fried tofu nuggets or the sesame tofu bao bun for some delicious appetizers before your main.

Tacoria

Tacoria never disappoints — it always tastes the same, and it's a great fallback option for hungry college students on those late-night food runs. Always bringing good vibes and generous portion sizes, the restaurant is also very vegan-friendly.

Tacoria offers great vegan options, including burrito boxes, burritos, tacos and salads. There are also some filling sides, including Golden Avocado, rajas, brussels sprouts and Tacorizo, that round out to create a hearty meal.

Freshii

Every once in a while, it's good to get a break from the dining halls and the frozen spread jammed in the back of your freezer. Freshii, located in downtown New Brunswick, specializes in fresh and whole ingredients to make salads, bowls, wraps and burritos, along with a multitude of smoothies and snacks.

So, what's available at Freshii? Definitely get the easily customizable bowls or salads to cater to your taste buds. You can add tofu or falafel, along with many vegetables and salad dressings. Smoothies like the Mixed Berrii or Freshii Green are also vegan and a great sweet addition to your meal.

No matter where you choose to dine during World Vegan Month, be sure to expand your food palate and explore New Brunswick.
