Mid-Aries season check-in: How to finish out this fiery season strong
Fire signs rise up: Since March 21, we’ve been in the energetic Aries season, so it's time to check in and see how it's been. If you haven't already embodied the Aries spirit, do it now! The season ends April 19, and these next few days should be full of dynamism, intensity and taking action.
Ruled by the aggressive and energetic planet Mars, Aries is a cardinal sign from the fire element. It’s also the first sign of the 12 zodiac signs, making it the start of the zodiac calendar.
As a fire sign, Aries is self-motivated, confident and determined like its two sibling signs, Leo and Sagittarius. Being part of the initiator-focused cardinal modality, Arieans are especially strong leaders that aren’t afraid to step up to responsibility or positions of power.
Aries placements thrive when they put themselves and their big ideas out there, and for those of us who suffer from a lack of big ideas or fire energy in general, it might be harder to find the motivation or the confidence to chase our goals.
Luckily, this is the perfect time to act — and you'll have the energy of the planets to support you! Remember those manifestations you made during dreamy, idealistic Pisces season? Now is the best time to take advantage and make those dreams into reality.
Here are some ways you can tap into Aries energy this season and make the most of it:
Be open to optimism
Aries are known for their unbreaking optimism and their strong sense of self-efficacy. While some might call them cocky, I think they have the right idea. At the end of the day, we truly are our thoughts. How we view ourselves shapes the reality around us, and for our sake, we ought to make it the best that we can.
If you’re lacking in fire placements, you may find that feeling confident or making decisions without overthinking can be challenging (I can certainly attest to this). But taking that first step is all you need to begin something potentially life-changing.
Aries season calls upon us to bring ourselves out of hypotheticals and examine possibilities. So stop dreaming and wake up. Dare to prove yourself wrong and just tell yourself you can be it.
It sounds too simple to be true, but that’s really all it takes. Walk and talk as if you’re the person you’ve dreamt of becoming. There’s absolutely no harm in giving yourself a chance.
I recently got some great advice from a woman at a career panel that best summarizes this sentiment. She said, “Don’t fake it until you make it because you’ll never feel like you’ve made it. Fake it until you become it. That’s much better.”
Just f****** do it
For Aries, there’s no such thing as “what if?” because 9 times out of 10, they'll go and find out. For these cardinal initiators, it isn’t about getting everything right on the first try but rather giving yourself a shot in the first place.
In a world that tells us practicality and reason are the keys to success, it can be hard to break away from that mold. But taking the chance to do so might just lead us to exactly where we were meant to be.
Whether you’ve just started your time at Rutgers or are about to graduate, it’s never too late to start something new! What have you been dying to do but keep pushing off to the side? It might be something as small as redecorating your room or as overwhelming as applying to your top graduate school.
Whatever it may be, don’t let yourself live with regret. The fear of doing something rarely ever surmounts the disappointment in not knowing what could have been.
Get it off your chest
As someone who is best friends with an Aries, I can assure you that with them, what you see is what you get.
There are no guessing games or clever mind tricks, especially when it comes to how they feel. Arieans wear their emotions on their face and their heart on their sleeve — and they know it too!
Some people might find this energy-intense or overwhelming, and at times, Aries’ confrontational nature can lead them to act without foresight. But when it comes down to it, Aries’ unabashed willingness to express themselves is what makes them so powerful.
Aries natives are sure to leave an impression on others, so if you’ve been struggling to break out of your shell, this energy will encourage you to make that first crack on the surface.
That friend that's been pissing you off? Tell them how you feel. Cut off that toxic friend or clingy date from Hinge that you’ve been reluctant to see. Burn that ex's sweater that you’ve been keeping under your bed. Scream into a pillow. Write that long rant in your notes, completely unfiltered and raw.
If Aries season can teach us anything, it’s to bite the bullet and bear your vulnerability — not as a weakness but as a marker of strength. Whatever's on your mind and in your heart is what will guide you through the tail end of Aries season, so take the risk and dare to go down paths unknown.
