The Daily Targum sat down with Chuck Salamone, a Class of 2012 alum who is the lead composer for the Hylics 2 soundtrack. Hylics 2 is a light Japanese role-playing game created by Mason Lindroth that follows the story of Wayne, who is on a mission to dethrone the tyrannical king, Gibby. In this interview, Salamone discusses the story of the game, the creation behind the hit track “Look Ma, I Fly Now!” and offers advice for young creatives.

Meet the Lead Composer Behind the Hylics 2 Soundtrack

RU Thrifty and the Salsa Sport Club partnered to host a prom night on Nov. 23 at the Rutgers Student Center on the College Avenue campus. Students were given the option to rewear their prom outfits for a night of food, music and salsa dancing.

Also known as The Rutgers Medieval History and Reenactment Club, Scarlet Cross is an undergraduate student organization at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. This group's purpose is not only to study, but to re-enact some of the more interesting parts of Medieval history. Activities range from history lessons to fully armored fighting practice.

Club Profile: Scarlet Cross

Students of all walks of life joined together at Demarest Hall for the Fall Drag Show. This event was a night of drag performances, dancing and music all toward the empowerment of the Rutgers LGBTQ+ community.

Demarest Hall Fall Drag Show (11/19/21)

On Thursday, Rutgers hosted the “Get Out the Vote” rally as part of Gov. Phil Murphy’s (D-N.J.) reelection campaign for governor, with guest speaker Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). The event featured several speakers, including Rutgers students and faculty and focused on the importance of voting in the upcoming election.

Diwali Dhamaka is an event that is held every year around the time of Diwali, the Indian holiday known as the Festival of Lights, which symbolizes the triumph of good over evil. Students celebrated this holiday by serving classic Indian dishes and dressing in traditional Indian clothing. The event, which is hosted by the Desi Intercultural Youth Association, is to show the Rutgers community the significance of Indian culture through food, clothing, dancing, and plenty of other festivities.

Diwali Dhamaka (10/14/21)

On Oct. 7, Young Americans for Liberty and Turning Point USA held a rally on the College Avenue campus to protest against the mask mandate and call for medical freedom. The rally was also met with counter-protesters.

No Forced Masks Rally (10/7/21)

On Sept. 25, students, faculty and New Brunswick citizens took part in March to Rutgers Gardens. Located on Ryders Lane, the Gardens are difficult to access from the main campus due to a lack of sidewalks and bike paths. The march aimed to raise attention to this issue through a 2-mile walk from the main campus to the Gardens. Upon reaching the Gardens, the University held festivities like live music, dancing and speeches from Rutgers faculty, all to raise awareness on the importance of Rutgers Gardens.

The Rutgers football team hosted Delaware at the SHI Stadium on Saturday, September 18th. The Scarlet Knights defeated Delaware 45-13 in its third and final non-conference game of the season. With the win, the Scarlet Knights (3-0, 0-0) are now undefeated through their first three games for the first time since 2012.
