A fourth man was arrested and charged for his involvement in the shooting at Easton Avenue and Hamilton Street on April 5, according to a press release published on Monday.

Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and New Brunswick Police Department (NBPD) Chief Vincent Sabo said that the 21-year-old man, Sayyid Acosta, turned himself in on Wednesday and was indicted for third-degree armed riot.

The shooting that happened at approximately 2 a.m. near the College Avenue campus injured two people, one of whom has been released from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, while the other is still recovering, as disclosed in the release.

Ciccone thanked the NBPD along with the Piscataway, Somerville and Rutgers University Police Departments for their efforts in arresting the perpetrators.

While the University has addressed the shooting and first three arrests in previous University-wide emails, it has not released information about Acosta's recent charge.
