Next month, the Rite Aid store in downtown New Brunswick will permanently close as part of the company's financial restructuring process, according to a statement from Rite Aid to The Daily Targum.

The pharmacy inside the store will shut down on April 8, and the store itself will be closed for business on April 21.

Rite Aid is 1 of 4 pharmacies on George Street and 1 of 2 in the center of downtown New Brunswick. The other pharmacies nearby include University Pharmacy, Ultra Care Pharmacy and Zajac's Pharmacy.

The company said it would work to assist the pharmacy customers in transferring their prescriptions and help staff transfer to jobs at other Rite Aid locations when possible, according to its statement to the Targum.
