Eight-alarm fire erupts in North Brunswick near Cook campus

On Wednesday, the New Brunswick Fire Department (NBFD) responded to a report of an eight-alarm fire that broke out near Georges Road and Nassau Street in North Brunswick at approximately 4 p.m., according to an article by ABC7 New York.

The fire, which was approximately half a mile from Cook campus, erupted at a mattress warehouse that stored mattresses as well as wood and other construction supplies.

The extent of the fire is undetermined, as responders have been unable to approach the source closely enough to identify if other buildings were affected, according to the article. Police say to avoid driving or walking through the area wherever possible.

The source of the fire is currently unknown, and the NBFD has yet to respond to The Daily Targum's request for comment at this time.
