The Rutgers men's basketball team released its 2023-2024 schedule on Tuesday morning.

To the delight of the Scarlet Knights' fans, the team rolled out a Sopranos-themed schedule release video. In the video, senior center Clifford Omoruyi reenacted the opening credits of the hit HBO TV show by driving through the campus with the song "Woke Up This Morning" by the Alabama 3 playing in the background.

Rutgers will play 18 home games, 14 away games and two neutral site games this season. The Knights will also play an exhibition game against St. John's at Carnesecca Arena in Queens on October 21.

Rutgers' neutral site games will be against Princeton at CURE Insurance Arena in Trenton to open up the season on November 6 and Mississippi State at the Prudential Center in Newark on December 23.

The Knights will play some notable non-conference opponents, including Georgetown on November 15 in the Gavitt Games, Wake Forest at the LJVM Coliseum in North Carolina on December 6 and Seton Hall in the Garden State Hardwood Classic at the Prudential Center on December 9.

For its Big Ten slate, Rutgers will play Indiana, Penn State and Northwestern at home, Iowa, Michigan State and Minnesota away and Maryland, Illinois, Michigan, Purdue, Nebraska, Wisconsin and Ohio State both home and away. It will be a difficult Big Ten schedule once again.

The Knights' most difficult stretch run will most likely be in early January when they play away at the Buckeyes on January 3, away at the Hawkeyes on January 6, at home against the Hoosiers on January 9 and away at Michigan State on January 14.

Other notable games will be at home against the Boilermakers on January 28 and at home against the Nittany Lions on January 31. Rutgers will conclude the regular season against Ohio State at Jersey Mike’s Arena on Livingston campus on March 10.

The season will conclude with the Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament on Wednesday, March 13, to Sunday, March 17, at the Target Center in Minneapolis.

With an improved out-of-conference schedule and an always tough Big Ten schedule, the Knights will be looking to get back to the NCAA Tournament.
