Every dedicated Taylor Swift fan has a favorite of her albums, whether it's her self-titled "Taylor Swift" or her newest release "Midnights." And since it's the end of January, some of us are wondering if we'll be holding onto our New Year's resolutions or how our year will turn out. If you want to know what to expect for the remaining months, here's a little explanation of what you might experience based on your favorite Taylor Swift album.

"Taylor Swift"

If you’re a fan of Swift’s debut, self-titled album, you might be experiencing your "innocence era." Some of the album’s songs like "Teardrops on My Guitar" indicate you might be anxious to tell someone how you feel but may be too nervous to go through with it.

"Taylor Swift" was written by Swift as a young teenager, so you may also be experiencing a bit of nostalgia if this is your current fave. With a mix of happy and sad songs, your year could have some ups and downs.

"Fearless"

"Fearless" contains a lot of hits about falling in love and young love in general. Songs like "Fifteen" keep with the style from her last album, but Swift also explores new themes as well, no longer as new to love as she was in her debut.

This album is lighthearted and full of happiness. If "Fearless" is your favorite album, you might be ready to embark on a new romance or explore a new connection with someone you already know. Tracks like "You Belong With Me" and "The Way I Loved You" show you might fall in love or already be in love and this year, you're dealing with the feelings that go along with that.

"Speak Now"

If "Speak Now" is currently on repeat in your car, you may spend some time in the talking stage this year. You’ll have lots of good moments that might be intertwined with some harder ones.

Popular songs like "Back to December" could describe some of the lows that might occur, but "Sparks Fly" could explain some of the highs. The album beautifully illustrates that every cloud has its silver lining so make sure to look out for it during hardship.

Since this album has some of Swift's most popular heartbreak songs like "Last Kiss" and "Dear John," watch out for any situationships that may not have your best interests in mind.

"Red"

The album "Red" means that you're ready for a change in your life. You may have spent the last year not having the confidence you truly desire, but if "Red" is your favorite, you're in for an exciting year.

This is the year to be yourself and get comfortable in your own skin. With songs like "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and "I Knew You Were Trouble," it’s the year of not taking anybody’s nonsense and standing up for yourself.

"1989"

This era of Taylor Swift is a little different from the rest and often stands out to longtime fans. If your favorite album is "1989," you'll probably have a carefree year, ready to move past all of the drama that you have been through.

Songs like "Shake It Off" show that you're ready to shake off all of the people who don’t make your life better and to let in the people that do. Make sure to stick to your guns this year too because 2023 is all about putting yourself first.

"reputation"

All Taylor Swift fans know what this one means: "Reputation" is about a total 180-degree turn. If this album is your favorite, you're ready to have a whole new outlook. Not just on life but on yourself too.

You might want to get a totally different haircut or change up your style a little bit if you're feeling brave enough. You might even be looking for a little revenge on those who have wronged you. Songs like "...Ready For It?" and "Look What You Made Me Do" are perfect to show that you're a new person and that you can stand up for yourself.

"Lover"

"Lover" takes another sharp turn, but in a new direction that leads to your transition into your happiness era. You might enjoy a few romantic comedies and just take this year to be happy. Unlike a "Reputation" stan, you probably like bright colors and enjoy sunsets.

Even if you're not in a relationship, this album can still perfectly describe your year as "Lover" is all about love in all kinds of forms. Songs like "Lover" and "ME!" perfectly encompass what your year has in store.

"folklore"

In this album, Swift explored an indie sound and used fictitious songs to explore more serious topics and themes. Songs like "invisible string" may suggest you've found a nice and quiet love, but songs like "cardigan" or "illicit affairs" suggest otherwise.

If anything, choosing this album may mean that you've been through a lot, and maybe it's time to take a year off from love for introspection and reflect on your past relationships.

"evermore"

Swift's "evermore" is an album that showcases many broken and messy relationships. She further explored fictional themes in this album and touched on moments from her personal life. If this is your favorite album, you might be dealing with a breakup this year and working through all of the emotions that come with that. It's possible that your heart's been broken, but it's also likely that you could have been the problem in a relationship as well.

Since this album was written in the middle of the pandemic, you may be in a bit of a slump in your personal life, in your career or in regard to romance. Songs like the bonus track "right where you left me" or "champagne problems" suggest you might be a little lost and on the verge of a transformation.

"Midnights"

This album explores all of Swift’s eras that her other albums have covered. If this is your favorite album, you're probably reminiscing on your life and everything that you've been through. You will likely spend this year recounting your past experiences, wondering what went wrong and how you can change it. If "Midnights" is your favorite album, it might be time to admit that you're the problem, it's you.
