Olivia Rodrigo, Doja Cat among those who won big at 2022's Grammys in music, fashion
The 64th Annual Grammy Awards kicked off in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena this past Sunday. The star-studded event garners millions of viewers every year, and this year was no different.
The event was flooded with a multitude of stars such as Olivia Rodrigo, Lady Gaga, Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion and many more. One of the biggest highlights of the annual Grammy Awards is the red carpet fashion.
News outlets like E! News live streams from the red carpet annually to show the stars arriving at the event, showcasing their fashion choices for the night. Although there were a multitude of phenomenal fashion moments on this year's carpet, here are my top favorite looks of the night.
Doja Cat
Doja won her first Grammy Award this year, and she was definitely dressed for the occasion.
Doja arrived on the red carpet in an intricate baby blue Versace dress which consisted of a light blue bodysuit with a sheer dress over top. The sheer layer of the dress was covered in hand-stitched rhinestones throughout the entirety of the dress.
Doja also paired the light and classy look with a Y2K bleached blonde spiky hairdo, a blue and clear ombre glass purse and a bedazzled JBL speaker bag. Overall, it was one of the fashion highlights of the night.
Olivia Rodrigo
Rodrigo, who also received her first Grammy this year, arrived at the ceremony in a simple yet elegant black Vivienne Westwood dress.
The dress was embellished with pink, purple and blue rhinestones resembling the shape of a woman’s body and curves. She paired the simple black gown with long black gloves, a gorgeous pink necklace and a black and pink choker.
Rodrigo stunned throughout the night, looking as gorgeous as ever while taking home three Grammy Awards.
SZA
SZA took home her first Grammy on Sunday alongside Doja for Pop Duo/Group Performance for their hit song “Kiss Me More.” SZA looked absolutely stunning in a brown ruched Jean Paul Gaultier gown embellished with embroidered flowers up the whole front of the dress. She looked ethereal and glowy, even when she walked onto the stage on crutches to accept her award.
Lil Nas X
Lil Nas X walked home empty-handed this year, but he absolutely killed the Grammys red carpet. He walked the carpet in a beautiful white pearl embellished two-piece suit. The intricate design of the pearls with the colorful butterfly motifs and white platform shoes tied the whole look together and solidified it as one of the best of the night. Although he didn’t take home any Grammys, Lil Nas X certainly won on the red carpet.
Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga outdid herself all night long in true Gaga fashion. She stunned on the red carpet in a luxurious custom black and white silk gown by Giorgio Armani Privé. She styled the sleek classy gown with diamond Tiffany & Co. jewelry and an old Hollywood-style updo.
Whether it was during her performance or her appearance on the red carpet, Lady Gaga stole the show, as per usual.
Dua Lipa
Although Dua Lipa wasn’t up for any awards and was only a presenter, she absolutely stole the spotlight. Lipa rocked a vintage strappy Versace dress completed with gold hardware and a ginormous gold necklace. She also shared an iconic on-stage moment with Donatella Versace and Megan Thee Stallion, which was one of the highlights of the ceremony.
So many stars stepped onto the red carpet and delivered this award season. It’s time to start the countdown to next awards season to see what our favorite celebrities have in store.
