Perpetrator is charged with murder following New Brunswick Avenue shooting

A 21-year-old male perpetrator from Perth Amboy has been arrested and charged with murder after the shooting of a 22-year-old man near New Brunswick Avenue, according to an article from MyCentralJersey.

The shooting took place last Friday and police responded to the incident at approximately 5:24 p.m. The victim, Jonathan Molina, a resident of Perth Amboy, New Jersey, was located at the scene with a sustained gunshot wound.

Molina was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his wound where he was later pronounced dead, according to the article.

The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office announced that the perpetrator, Christopher Hernandez Velasquez, would be charged for being in possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose, hindering his own arrest as well as other various charges relating to the murder of the victim.
