Rutgers updates coronavirus testing program data

Rutgers released its Weekly University Health Update with coronavirus disease (COVID-19) testing results from the week of Nov. 8 to Nov. 14.

Of the 4,652 total tests performed, 93 came back positive and 4,549 were negative, according to the email. Ten tests came back inconclusive, according to the University’s Testing Program Dashboard

Students made up 76 of the positive results, with 16 employees and one University affiliate also testing positive, according to the dashboard. 

Rutgers—New Brunswick has 52 positive test results, while Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS)—New Brunswick/Piscataway had 13, RBHS—Newark had 12, Rutgers—Newark had nine and Rutgers—Camden had six, according to the dashboard. 

The weekly proportion positivity rate rose to two percent compared to the previous week’s rate of 1.47 percent, according to the dashboard. The proportion positivity rate has now risen for two consecutive weeks.

Since the start of the University’s testing program in May, 59,995 tests were performed, with 575 positive cases, 59,244 negative results and 176 inconclusive tests, according to the dashboard. A total of 0.96 percent of all test results were positive, while 98.75 percent came back negative.
