Students that reside in Hardenbergh Hall on the College Avenue campus received an email this morning informing them of a student death.

“We regret to inform you that there has been a loss in our community. Kyle Gotchel passed away early this morning,” according to an email from John Newhouse, Residence Life coordinator.

Gotchel was a Rutgers Business School sophomore.

The email specified that counseling staff was available to the building’s second floor residents at noon in the Hardenbergh main lounge. Additional staff will be available at the same location at 8 p.m. for all Hardenbergh community members, and students are encouraged to inform and invite anyone else who may want to attend.

University Spokesperson Neal Buccino was unable to confirm anything at this time, but said there is no indication of foul play, according to an email to The Daily Targum.
