Broke but want to look bougie? Check out these stylish, affordable options

Being fashionable doesn't have to break the bank. There are a lot of a lot of in-store and online options that offer high-quality clothing at low costs, it just takes some digging to find these hidden treasures! – Photo by Piqsels.com

A lot of people assume that in order to be up with the latest fashion trends, you have to be willing to splurge. But after many years of being a "shopaholic" I've definitely learned that that's the furthest thing from the truth.

With a bit of research, it's actually pretty easy to find affordable, yet trendy clothing stores both online and in-store.

Here are a few of my favorite affordable go-to places to shop that also keep my wardrobe in style:

SHEIN

If you haven’t heard of this online wonderland, you're late to the game. No worries though, you can catch up on all the outfits missed in one big, yet affordable order!

SHEIN is a clothing website that seems to be the holy grail of clothing websites this year. When I tell you they are cheap, I mean it.

Luckily, they don’t cut down on the quality of the clothing and they keep up on all the latest trends. Bathing suit sets for no more than $15, jeans for $20 and endless tops ranging from $3 to $20. Yes, you heard me, $3 shirts.

Personally, I have placed countless orders from this site over the years and it now makes up probably 70 percent of my wardrobe. This is the perfect place to step out of your comfort zone a little bit and try some new trends, you might as well for so cheap. If you take one thing from this article, it's to check out SHEIN!

Cotton On

This is the store you need for everyday basics in your wardrobe. Cotton On has a lot of locations around the U.S. as well as an online store, so wherever you may be, you can find one of these.

They also have men's, women's and kids’ clothing so you can shop for anyone here. When I think of Cotton On, I think of all the basics that are necessary for a wardrobe. This is one of those stores that you get three different colors of every shirt because they are perfect for layering and styling.

Speaking from personal experience, I usually see a lot of better deals when in-store shopping rather than on their site, but the sale section of the website is just as reliable and affordable as some of the in-store sale racks.

boohoo

This is really the perfect place for almost any occasion, whether it be a casual outfit, a homecoming dress, work attire or activewear. Once again, they market to both men and women, along with having a super extensive plus-size line.

The notable thing about boohoo is that they seem to always be having a deal, and usually for more than 50 percent off everything! boohoo ranges from having the most "out there," over-the-top pieces, to all the basics you could imagine, to cocktail dresses and more. Even if you don’t have a specific occasion coming up, I recommend checking out the website and just see how much you compile in your cart.

Amazon

You may think this is a bit of a stretch, but Amazon literally has it all. It wasn’t until this year that I started clothing shopping on Amazon, and I will never go back. The look on peoples’ faces when they ask where my outfit is from, and I say, “Oh Amazon!" is priceless.

If you're going to get anything from Amazon, you must buy your workout clothes from here. They have so many dupes for high end athletic brands such as Lululemon and Gymshark (I can vouch for this because I have approximately 20 pairs of Amazon leggings that regularly get mistaken for super expensive pieces).

They also have a bunch of cute fashion tops. My all-time favorite bodysuit is from Amazon along with so many other amazing ‘going-out’ pieces.

Finally, you definitely have to invest in Amazon sweatshirts. Stop spending $60 on Champion crewnecks when you can get the same looking thing for $15! And the best part of this all is, if you have Amazon Prime, your clothes come in two days. It’s an overall win-win.

Making your wardrobe look and feel high-end is easier than ever with all the options we have online. And the best part? You can do it for half the price. I hope you go check out some of these suggestions and make 2021 your year for (affordable) fashion!
