Move over chocolate, vegan candy is coming through

My fellow vegans, have no fear this Halloween! Have your sweet-tooth cravings satisfied by the many vegan options available this holiday. Living animal-free has never been so easy, so whether you’re on a vegan, gelatin-free or insect-free diet, you can still enjoy some sugary snacks.

Something Chewy?

There are lots of options if you’re into chewy candies because many major brands have moved away from using gelatin to achieve that stretchy quality. Airheads, Dots, Twizzlers and Red Vines are all great vegan, totally animal-free options. If those don’t satisfy your candy needs, you can add Hubba Bubba chewing gum, Jujyfruits and Swedish Fish to the list.

Sour & Tart

If you pick “trick” when you hear the question “trick or treat?” then you’ll love to delve into these tongue-twisting candies. For something sour or tart, you’ll want to put Sweetarts and Sour Patch Kids on your shopping list.

Hard Candies & Lollies

Hard candies and lollipops are the foundation of any great candy bowl, and there are loads of options for those of us that avoid candies made with animal byproducts. All types of Jolly Ranchers, Nerds, Smarties, Bottle Caps and Pez inserts are vegan friendly, in addition to Dum Dum lollipops and Charm’s Blow Pops.

If none of these candies tickle your haunted fancy, then you can add Fireballs to the list if you want something hot. Go with Pixie Stix for some powdered-sugar fun and Skittles because they are #lit. Most importantly, you'll know that you’re avoiding animal byproducts, by choice or religion, this Halloweekend and that your cravings can be fulfilled.
