Budget-friendly places to buy swim suits during spring break

Spring break is upon us after an exceedingly long and dull winter in New Jersey! Although the Jersey Shore water may be too cold for us — despite the beautiful 70-degree days we’ve had this week — it’s never too early to start picking out your swimsuit. Whether you’re into bikinis or a surfing-ready bodysuit, Inside Beat has got you covered with the ultimate swimsuit-shopping guide for any budget!

Cheap and Chic!

If you’re on the go and looking for an inexpensive buy, definitely go to Forever 21. F21 has a wide range of one-piece and bikini-style bathing suits that will fit anyone’s taste, not to mention they always have a sale going on! You can find excellent pieces for under $15.

Now, it may come as a surprise, but Target should also be on your swimsuit hit-list. They have patterned two-piece suits that can easily be mixed and matched for under $30, but be warned, I may be partial to this super store because you can also get your very own mermaid tail (and it comes in four different colors)!

Moderate

If you haven’t already fallen in love with H&M, their line of swimsuits will seal the deal. The selection is mostly two-pieces, but if that’s what you’re looking for it is a great spot for something in a middle-bracket price range. You’ll end up matching your top and bottom for about $40, if the items aren’t on sale. I can’t get over their bandeau bikini tops in tribal and geometric prints. Some items have cutaways, some are reversible, but there will definitely be something for everyone’s taste.

Treat Yo'Self

This section is for that piggy bank of saved paychecks that beach-lovers have for their perfect swimsuit for the season. My personal favorites in the Treat Yo’Self-price range come from Urban Outfitters, American Apparel and Victoria’s Secret and yes, my bank account just trembled a little at the very thought of those purchases.

Urban has a wide selection of vintage, hippy-patterned swimsuits and bikinis. Florals, geometric patterns, cutaways and mesh-material swimsuits from Urban will make you the trendiest sunbather on the beach. They even offer exclusive surfer body suits from Billabong that are athletic and wave-ready.

American Apparel is the guilty shopping pleasure to end all other guilty shopping pleasures, and their swimsuit collection is now different. While I find their bikinis underwhelming, their one-piece suits are extremely well made and super stylish.  It is impossible to resist the American flag design with Independence Day right around the corner.

Lastly, you can’t go wrong with anything from Victoria’s Secret. They even have a “Bikini Mixer” on their website so you can design and order your ultimate swimsuit online. So now their line of bikinis, tankinis, one-pieces and cover-ups aren’t just angel approved, but also IB approved and tailored to your personal taste.
